Timing could not be better for the founders of The Business of WordPress Conference in Atlanta on June 22 - 23, 2010, as the new release of WordPress version 3.0 has hit the web! The conference is designed for new and experienced users of Wordpress and will certainly address many of the improved features of the platform.

On today's Bella Buzz podcast, we speak with
Chris Jordan, WordPress user and consultant extraordinaire, as well as the founder of
Atlanta Insurance Live, a unique video blog for insights on all things insurance. Chris is a speaker at the conference, organized by
Mike Schinkel.
Chris is a perfect example of someone without a significant background in web coding, html design, broadcast journalism or other high level technical web development skills, but was able to apply simple common sense approaches and the variety of internet technologies available to him to build his brand. Choosing the WordPress CMS platform to build his business on proved to be a wise decision and allowed him a range of content development options. He even has an embedded
Ustream plugin so that he can communicate with customers Live!.
Growing his skill base and using social media to promote his brand has paid off for Chris. He has been contacted by many in the insurance field for insights and speaking opportunities about how he is using technology, and will be speaking in September in San Francisco to the National Leadership Institute.
A key tip from Chris is that support is widely available from the WordPress community. Whether it is a conference like The Business of WordPress or just posting to the
Support Forums, there is an answer or a plugin suggestion to help you achieve your objective.
For some specific insights into the Conference, it is geared towards a non-technical business owner who either manages their web presence, is considering managing their presence, or might be looking for someone to partner with who can act as web support. At the Conference, they will get some great insights into what WordPress can do as a content management system so that they can make the most informed decision. The
agenda is jammed packed with sessions for a diverse range of topics, and some great Q&A panels with high level users.
... and of course there is great IRL (In Real Life) networking!!
